Dear Reader,

We have been overwhelmed by the number of books on communitybooks on community
books on communitybooks on community
which reached us simultaneously. They are very varied in format, from
expensively illustrated to modest simplicity, but all are well worth
reading. I'm referring to: The Findhorn Book of Intentional Community,
SUSTAINABLE COMMUNITY: Learning from the Cohousing Model, ex-
Desk member Jan Bang's Eco-villages (See p. 9) and the English edition of Eurotopia 2005 (See
p. 19). There are at least 3 other new community books that we haven't seen yet.

After spending 2 weeks at Twin Oaks, Gideon Eshel of Kibbutz Tzora, met up with
representatives of the North American community movement. His "report" will appear in the
next issue of CALL….. May this be the start of greater 2-way contact.

let me know. I have plenty of worthwhile contacts in Israel for you.

steadily growing. This is in stark contrast to the increasing number of kibbutzim moving over
to more privatization. (The latter will still have more mutual responsibility than most IC's.)
