I was born in 1952 in Tel Aviv and joined Kibbutz Dvir permanently in 1974. I have been the Culture Co-ordinator of the kibbutz for the last 12 years, having previously worked in a variety of jobs, including in the fields, irrigating, gardening and in the animal petting zoo. I am very active politically: Having been on the politics committee in the kibbutz, involved with both Peace Now and Meretz, and on the management committee of Hashomer Hatzair. Since 2000, I have led the fight against the changes on my kibbutz. I have also studied History and Kibbutz Studies at the Oranim College.

Gideon Eshel
Member at Large
Born in 1941, Gideon is married to Chana Tevuah. They have three children and eight grandchildren.
He graduated from Class 22 of the Kadoorie Agricultural School (1956–1959).
He arrived at Kibbutz Tzora in 1959 and initially worked as a metalworker and later became the technical specialist in the dairy, where he was involved in constructing a new milking facility. He is a certified electrician, who also holds a degree as a technician in computer and control systems. As part of his cultural involvement, Gideon hosted holiday celebrations and weddings and also served as coordinator of the youth committee.
He served as the kibbutz secretary from 1994 to 1996.
As a secretary and a man of ideological principles, he opposed the privatization process. When Tzora voted to transition from a traditional collective kibbutz to a “renewed kibbutz,” he abstained from the vote and “escaped” to the U.S., where he stayed for several weeks at Twin Oaks, an American commune. Twin Oaks has existed for over 50 years and operates similarly to the commune model that was common in Israel during the early years of the kibbutz movement.
In retrospect, he acknowledges that the privatization process benefited the kibbutz.
